History

MineCon 2011 at the Mandalay Bay saw the release of Minecraft 1.0, the end of the beta. Every ticket holder got the red Creeper cape.

It was the first cape handed to a larger group of players; before, only staff and a few individuals wore one.

On 12 May 2020 Mojang disabled every unredeemed MineCon code. No owner has been added since.
